Friends Reunited

By Admin

Visitors indoors started this week and we were so happy to see friends and family in person again. There’s been a lot of smiles in the house as we’ve caught up over tea and cake. Whilst we all did our best to keep in touch over zoom this past year there’s nothing like real human contact and connection and its been wonderful to welcome people back through our doors again and see the sparkle in our resident’s eyes.

Spring is in the air

By Admin

It has been a challenging year and more than ever made us all see how important being outside and connected to nature is for our health and spirits. Now that spring is in the air we are looking forward to getting back outside with our local friends of Newbridge House to plant and play again.

“Music mends what is broken, heals what is hurting & is the light that helps show you the way back home”

By Admin

They say music washes away the dust of everyday life and we cannot wait to be making music and singing together in person again one day soon . In the meantime a big heartfelt thank you to all the wonderful singers and musicians who gave open air concerts in our garden and over zoom throughout lockdown. We even had a live link dance class with a dance teacher in Argentina!. It really did help to to keep our team and residents inspired and smiling.

Shared Voices Project

By Admin

In 2019 Newbridge House was chosen by BANES to pilot the Shared Voices project which connected care homes with local childminders and the children they care for together for weekly play sessions. The project was a great success and is now being used as a blueprint for community partnerships and inter generational work across the region. 2 years on and those shy young children, their childminders and our residents have become firm friends with so much learning and growing on both sides. Despite lockdown we’ve kept in touch through weekly video calls and are so excited to be eating cake and playing together again as soon as we are able.

Be part of our community.
